Getting Started with DIY Body care

When it comes to looking great and feeling amazing, one of the greatest things that you can do for yourself is treating yourself to relaxing and beautifying beauty treatments. Using various body butters, body scrubs, body soaps, and even taking the time to take tranquil baths will immensely aid in body detox as well as give you the ultimate in relaxation. But, the reality is that many commercial products sold in stores these days contain ingredients that are less than healthy, some of these ingredients are actually harmful. Countless commercial body butters, body soaps, and body scrubs are laden with chemicals. Thankfully, there is an answer and it is in the form of creating your own beauty products using natural ingredients, many of which can be found right in your very own kitchen.  Making your own beauty treatments and products such as body butters, body soaps, and body scrubs is not only good for you, but it is also great for the environment, and in addition, making your own products is very cost-effective as well.

Look After Your Body Naturally Using Body Treatments That You Make Yourself!

Body Butters

Starting with body butters, one of the easiest products to make yourself, you will need to start with a softening agent that is completely natural such as coconut oil, and then add a few other oils to make the body butter extra moisturizing and fragrant, such as vitamin E oil and then the essential oil of your choice. The secret to making this body butter rich and smooth is whipping the mixture thoroughly. Make sure the coconut oil is solid, not melted, and then add the other ingredients and then just mix away. This recipe creates the most luxurious body butter that is also completely natural and inexpensive! Use this body butter after a shower or bath, or just anytime your skin needs a little softening or extra moisture. Make sure to store this home-made body butter in a glass jar.

Body Soap

Making your own body soap is just as easy as making body butter and your own body scrub, and only requires one other ingredient which is liquid castile soap. To make your own body soap, mix together ingredients such as honey, liquid castile soap, vitamin e oil, an essential oil for fragrance, and a carrier oil such as jojoba or grapeseed oil. The great thing about this homemade body soap is that it is super moisturizing and leaves your skin smooth and clean. Pour this body soap on a loofah or bath pouf and just start scrubbing away. You can feel confident that you are putting only natural and good ingredients on your skin when you are using the body soap that you made yourself.

Body Scrubs

The next skincare product that you can easily make yourself is a body scrub. Body scrubs are perfect for exfoliating the skin either in the bath or shower. And, if you make the body scrub yourself, you can guarantee that what you are putting on your skin is completely natural and made from ingredients that you can trust. For the easiest body scrub ever, start with sugar and then add other softening and fragrant ingredients to get the body scrub of your dreams such as almond oil or sunflower oil as well as lavender essential oil or another essential oil for fragrance. This body scrub will exfoliate your dead skin cells and also leave your skin baby soft and smelling amazing.  Next on the list for a beautifying product to make yourself is body soap.

Detox Bath

Lastly, another great home-made beautifying treatment is a detox bath that is both relaxing and luxurious for your skin. To make your own detox bath treatment, start with Epsom salt, sea salt, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and your favorite essential oil for the perfect scent. Put all ingredients in your warm bath and just soak away. This detox bath is great for relieving stress as well as easing tired muscles, and always has health benefits to boot. At the end of the day, there is nothing better than making your own beauty products and putting the most beneficial and natural products on your skin. Enjoy beautifying yourself naturally the DIY way.

You can buy your dry body brush from the bath section of your nearest grocery or convenience store. If they do not have any in stock, you might want to visit establishments that sell spa supplies.

How to dry body brush

How to Dry Body Brush

It is important body brushing is done on dry skin so brush before your bath or shower, not during or after. For best brushing refer to the image above for guidance in the direction in which you should brush.

Using a firm natural bristled brush, brush all over the body in upward strokes in the direction of your heart. Start by brushing the soles of your feet and then upwards over your legs, hips and buttocks. Concentrate on problem areas, such as the hips and thighs or where there is cellulite. Then brush your back and shoulders remembering to brush in the direction of your heart.

Next, brush the palms of your hands and then upwards over your arms and shoulders. Use light and gentle brushing strokes to brush in downward strokes over your chest, as your skin is very delicate here. Then finish off by brushing your stomach area in clockwise motions.

Try adding a drop of juniper or grapefruit essential oil to your brush, which have diuretic properties to help reduce excess fluid. Dry skin brushing will help improve skin texture and tone. Do it before your bath or shower for about 5 minutes and for maximum benefits, continue body brushing regularly after your Detox Day Spa at Home. For those who are new to dry skin brushing we recommend that you brush daily for 3 months for best results.
